The Town of Londonderry, NH seeks a licensed professional forester to conduct a forest inventory and forest stewardship plan to be completed in 2026. The property is the Musquash Conservation Area which contains approximately 1,000 acres. The property is comprised of a rolling topography including significant wetland areas, extensive trail system, historic cellar holes, and a section that has been managed for New England Cottontail habitat as a joint venture with NHF&G. There is currently no forest management plan for this property. The Conservation Commission is seeking proposals that include management of timber, protection of wetland resources, maintaining Tree Farm status and maintenance of the early successional habitat.
Other smaller properties will need management plans at a future date.
The proposal will include:

The resume and qualifications of the individuals performing the inventory and writing the plan

A copy of a plan (or plans) that have addressed managing early successional wildlife habitat, protection of wetland resources, and design of recreational infrastructure

The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, or any portion thereof. The Town reserves all rights to negotiate with the consultant of its choice based not solely upon cost alone, but on the qualifications and ability of the consultant to perform, consistent with the Town’s intent, requirements, time schedule, and fund availability. The Town further reserves the right to:

Not award a contract for the requested services.

Amend the proposal as mutually agreed by both parties to accommodate specific needs of the community.

Waive any irregularities of informalities in any proposals.

Extend the deadline for submission of proposals.

Accept the proposal deemed to be the most beneficial to the public and the Town of Londonderry.

Negotiate and accept, without advertising, the proposal of any other respondent in the event that a contract cannot be successfully negotiated with the selected firm.

Retain products submitted by respondents for its own use at its sole discretion.
The Conservation Commission, shall review and evaluate all proposals in accordance with the criteria contained herein and the provisions herein and the provisions of applicable state and federal laws.
Responses to this RFP will not be accepted from any Consultant who is considered either suspended or debarred from doing business with the Federal Government or in the State of New Hampshire. The Town of Londonderry further reserves the right to reduce the scope of work to an amount proportional to available funds and/or to otherwise limit the work as may be deemed in the best interest of the Town.
