A sources-sought is a market research tool being used to determine availability and adequacy of potential business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition. The intent of this sources sought notice is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist by determining if this effort can be successfully competed and/or set-aside for small businesses. The government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. This requirement is expected to result in the award of a single firm-fixed price contract. The anticipated period of performance is one year. The government will not reimburse any company or individual for any expense associated with preparation or participation in this research. All interested businesses must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov to be eligible for award of Government contracts. Telephonic inquiries will NOT be honored. Email is the only current method for contact. William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss, TX is issuing a sources sought for Cardiogen-82 Generators. A radioactive generator that when saline runs through the column Rb-82 is pulled off and given to the patient while they are in the scanner. The delivery system is fitted to the generator system and is unique to this system alone. Every 40 days a new generator will be swapped in the infusion system which also provides a radiation safety component. The infusion system checks for Strontium break thru which can be harmful for the patient. The system checks every dose that it administrates to the patients. It also does weight-based dosing. It will deliver a dose based on the patients weight larger patients get a bigger dose to help improve image quality, while smaller patients will get a smaller dose reducing their radiation exposure. Also, an FDA approved software used in cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) for determining regional and global absolute rest and stress myocardial perfusion in cc/min/g, Coronary Flow Reserve, and their combination into the Coronary Flow- Capacity (CFC) Map for facilitating the interpretation of PET perfusion images in patients with suspected or known coronary artery disease.
