| Description: | Durham Public Schools is seeking qualified vendors to provide Cloud-ready SIP and TDM trunking for seamless connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and Integrate with our Cisco Unified Communication and Collaboration (UC&C) systems to enhance our communication infrastructure. The proposed solutions or infrastructure must simplify operations, meet FCC regulations, and offer scalability to adapt to evolving organizational needs. By modernizing our voice and communication systems, we aim to achieve cost savings, operational efficiency, and compliance while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Our objectives include reducing costs by replacing legacy services with cloud-ready alternatives, enhancing efficiency through robust APIs and advanced security features, and achieving FCC compliance with 911 capabilities for remote and on-site locations. The scope of work requires vendors to deliver secure, scalable SIP and TDM connections, shared voice resources, advanced 911 integration, and APIs for self-service management. Flexible contracting, billing options, and fraud prevention mechanisms are also essential components of the proposed solution. Durham Public Schools is also seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive, fully managed solution to replace approximately 160 POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) lines with a modern communications service. The proposed solution should align with our goals of simplifying communication processes, improving reliability, and reducing operational costs. The objective is to transition from legacy POTS line technology to an advanced, easily managed communication platform to increase operational efficiency. The selected vendor will provide a managed service to support POTS line applications such as: • Elevators • Fire alarms • Fax machines • Security systems • Other critical infrastructure This solution must deliver high reliability, scalability, and ease of management, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards. Responding vendors might be required to provide a product demonstration of the proposed solution. Durham Public Schools (DPS) is also seeking proposals for a redundant internet connection to enhance network resilience and ensure uninterrupted service for its data center critical services and or inter-site connections. Given DPS’s 1:1 device environment across multiple locations, reliable internet access is critical. The proposed secondary redundant connection must be capable of dynamic activation at the data center or any of the local sites in the event of a primary connection failure. The selected provider must offer a scalable solution capable of offering between 1Gbps to 10Gbps with diverse routing, and failover capabilities. The solution should include 24/7 monitoring, SLAs with uptime guarantees, and robust security features such as DDoS protection. Providers must ensure low-latency performance suitable for cloud services, remote learning, and security operations while maintaining physical path diversity from the existing primary provider. |
