The Project consists of a ±211 GSF building housing two TAS-compliant restrooms with a shared
plumbing chase. The structure is constructed of reinforced masonry walls with steel roof framing
and a standing seam metal roof. Site improvements include one van-accessible parking space
with an accessible sidewalk leading to the building entrances, as well as utility connections for
water, wastewater, and electrical service. The project also includes removal and replacement of an
existing fence and other miscellaneous site work.
Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis as indicated in the Bid
Form.

Bidders are required to complete Document 00 45 13, Qualification Statement. Prequalification of Bidders
is required. Due to the specialized nature of the construction, the experience and qualifications of Bidders
will be evaluated by the OWNER’S Project Manager based upon recommendations of a technical review
panel prior to the opening of Bids. Only those Bids submitted by Bidders determined by the OWNER’S
Project Manager to be qualified will be considered. Bids received from Bidders who are not prequalified will
be returned unopened.
Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or acceptable Bid Bond on a state or
national bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the possible total of the bid submitted,
payable without recourse to the City of Hutto, Texas, or an acceptable bid bond for the same amount from
a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute required
Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of the contract.
The successful contractor must furnish a Performance Bond upon the form provided in the amount of
one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, a material and labor Payment Bond upon the form
provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and Maintenance Bond upon
the form provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, from a surety
authorized under the laws of the State of Texas to act as a surety on bonds for principals within ten (10)
days after the notice of award of the contract.
The right is reserved, as the interest of the Owner may require, to reject any and all bids, to waive any
informality in the bids received, and to select the bid best suited to the Owner’s best interest. The
successful contractor must have completed a minimum of three similar projects within the last five years.
