2026 Timber Harvest: Logging & Trucking

Sealed bids from Licensed Timber Operators for the 2026 Timber Harvest for the City of Arcata will be received at the office of the City Manager, Arcata City Hall, 736 F Street, Arcata, California, until 4:30 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read:

The successful bidder shall:

A. Fall, buck, yard, load and deliver to designated locations approximately 430 MBF of redwood, Douglas fir and western hemlock logs. Logs manufactured from designated timber located in the Arcata Community Forest Jacoby Creek Tract Section 30, T5N, R2E HB&M. This project involves selection harvest with primarily cable high lead yarding and a portion of tractor yarding.

B. Install designated erosion control measures following operations.

C.  Repair and/or replace five designated watercourse crossings.

Each sealed envelope containing a bid must be plainly marked on the outside as “2026 Logging Bid.” Specifications and bid forms may be obtained from the Contracts and Special Projects Manager, 736 F Street, Arcata, California, or downloaded from the City’s website: www.cityofarcata.org under “Bid.”

Bidders are solely responsible for the timely delivery of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The bid award may be made on or after the regularly scheduled Council Meeting on July 15, 2026.
