Geotechnical Assessment of Seven (7) Dam Sites
Synopsis:

The purpose of the geotechnical analysis is to assess all geotechnical considerations required for the evaluation of performance and safety of Admiral, Broderick West, Cypress East and West, McDougald, Star City and West Poplar Dams.

The scope of this contract will include analyses, modelling, and recommendations for all sites. All geotechnical aspects of the dams will be analyzed including the stability and seepage conditions under select loading conditions for the embankment. Other analyses, where applicable, include assessment for liquefaction potentials, assessment of filter systems, potential for foundation erodibility, assessment of emergency earth spillways to determine erodibility and functionality during an event of activation, review of the adequacy of slope protection and review of existing freeboards of the embankments.

A final report for each site will be delivered as part of this work. Specific recommendations should be given on the performance and further study and/or possible rehabilitation of the dam systems. However, this scope will be limited to desktop study utilizing existing information provided by WSA; no field investigations or site visits are included.
