NOTICE OF INTEREST
RUNNYMEDE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
WINSTON-SALEM ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The City of Winston-Salem is sending out this notice to alert potentially interested teams/firms on an
upcoming Progressive Design-Build project.
The project is anticipated to include construction of approximately 1,200 linear feet of new sewer main
along Runnymede Road with associated services, abandonment, or removal of existing aerial sewer
service crossings, approximately 1,000 to 1,200 linear feet of stream restoration and stabilization along
Runnymede Branch within Runnymede Park, and analysis and upgrade of approximately 800 linear feet
of downstream stormwater infrastructure between Runnymede Park and Northwest Boulevard.
June 15, 2026 at 1:30 PM
We will be holding an “Industry Day” mixer event to foster networking between design firms and
contractors that have interest in this project, also explaining how the Design-Build solicitation and award
process will happen for this project. Please see the next page for the event flyer.
**The selection is expected to be made in September of 2026.**
The eventual RFQ will in no manner be construed as a commitment on the part of the City to award a
contract. The City reserves the right to reject any or all applications; to waive minor irregularities in the
RFQ process or in the applications; to re-advertise this RFQ; to postpone or cancel this process; select
and procure parts of services; and to change or modify the RFQ schedule at any time.
Please reach out to Craig Nursey at (craign@cityofws.org) or 336-747-7418 during normal business
