Description
This project will collect data to allow Fisheries and Oceans Canada to estimate Canadians' non-market values for six species for which a listing decision has not been made but which have been assessed as endangered or threatened by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife (COSEWIC), an independent scientific advisory panel. The analysis based on this data will support economic analysis for the protection and recovery of endangered and threatened aquatic species.
Objectives
• Collect nationally representative data to allow DFO to estimate Canadians’ WTP for the protection of six representative species.
• To test for statistical differences in WTP between species.
• To test for statistical differences in the WTP between residents at different spatial distances from the species (e.g., those in the province where the species resides vs. others).
The estimated contract period will be 5 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/10/13.
