Description:

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Female Offender Programs and Services/Special Housing Mission (FOPS/SH) is looking to continue a program for aggressive/violent females. The program shall adopt a more inclusive program model to include transgender, intersex, and non-binary individuals who have also experienced trauma and have histories of aggression and/or violence. The program shall provide specialized programming to create a trauma-informed therapeutic environment. This will include core elements such as: safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. It should also reflect our current understanding of gender as it has shifted from the binary male-female model to a more inclusive and expanded model to include the experiences of transgender, intersex, and non-binary individuals.
