Loring Ice Arena Refrigeration System Repair

The City of Framingham (‘City), acting through the Mayor, the Awarding Authority invites sealed bids from qualified contractors to provide repairs and upgrades to the refrigeration system at Loring Ice Arena. Work includes, but is not limited to, glycol pump rebuilding, replacement of pressure relief valves, ammonia system piping modifications, replacement of isolation valves, ammonia evacuation and recharge services, welding, testing, and all associated labor, materials, equipment, permits, and incidentals necessary to return the refrigeration system to safe and reliable operation. Contractors must have demonstrated experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Bid documents can be obtained electronically through the City of Framingham’s Bidnet Direct portal on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 after 11:00 AM:

Sealed bids must be submitted electronically through the City’s Bidnet Direct portal system. Bids submitted through any other means, such as mail, email or hand delivery, will not be accepted and will be rejected by the City as non-responsive.

Bids shall be submitted through Bidnet Direct and are due on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 2026 by 11:00 AM.

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Loring Arena, 165 Fountain Street, Framingham, Massachusetts.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, to waive any minor informalities and technicalities, or to cancel the bid if it were in the public interest to do so.
