This project is a competitive Small Business Set-aside Request for Proposal for the dismantling of antiquated amphitheater structures result of fire and flooding, reconstruct on higher ground approximately 200' away, with new sidewalks and lighting in the Flagstaff Ranger District on Coconino National Forest. There have been two major flooding events due to fires since it was constructed in 2001. The first event was the Shultz fire in 2010 and again in 2022 by the Tunnel and Pipeline fires. Both events resulted in the site being unusable being buried in up to 4 feet of sediment. The project will consist of minor demolition of the existing amphitheater and construction of a new amphitheater in new location that is not susceptible or prone to flooding.
The contemplated project requires the Contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, incidentals, inspection, quality control, and supplies necessary to accomplish the following key performance areas:
Work Summary – Work for this project consists of constructing a new amphitheater structure, sidewalks, and lighting.
Project Location – The project work is located at the Bonito Campground on the Coconino National Forest. From the Flagstaff Ranger Station (5075 US-89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004) at the Marketplace Drive and US-89 intersection, drive north on US-89 for 11.4 miles. Turn right onto NFSR 545 (Fire Rd / Loop Rd) and continue for 1.9 miles. Turn left onto NFSR 545F (Bonito Campground Entrance). The new location for the amphitheater is located at latitude 35.370594 decimal degrees, and longitude -111.540781 decimal degrees.
