Collins Street Complete Street - Phase I

The project is a Complete Street renovation of approximately 1/4 mile of S. Collins Street from E. Laura Street to south of E. Alabama Street. Work includes paving, grading, drainage, concrete curb and sidewalk, striping, signage, and signalization improvements necessary to reallocate use of the right of way. Work also includes landscape, hardscape, irrigation, and lighting improvements, and replacement of an existing potable water main and appurtenances.

Contractor will accommodate and coordinate relocation and undergrounding of private utilities concurrent with the project schedule.

This project supports the Midtown redevelopment effort by improving pedestrian access, improving resiliency and aesthetics through undergrounding of utilities, and extending the ambiance of Downtown and other previous Midtown improvements. The overall Midtown project involves redevelopment of sites with a history of soil and groundwater contamination, therefore measures will be necessary to address potentially contaminated soils and groundwater within the project area, and access to adjacent sites will be restricted.
