Description
Canada, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), is inviting suppliers with experience in the delivery of construction services to submit a Response to qualify for the planned work for the renovation of a conference room in the Embassy of Canada to Japan, in Tokyo (the “Requirement”). This Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) defines the requirements for the qualification of Respondents for the Requirement. Interested Respondents are required to respond to this ITQ. Based on these Responses, Canada intends to select, in accordance with the terms of this ITQ, the Qualified Respondents to participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage of the solicitation.
The Requirement includes the renovation of a conference room in the Embassy of Canada to Japan, in Tokyo.
The scope will include, but is not limited to, the following:
a. Partial demolition and removal of some elements as a suspended ceiling, electrical and mechanical components.
b. Chipping of concrete slab floor.
c. Installation of door with the double glass swing door with minimum Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 45.
d. Installation of full glass enclosure wall. Consists of double pane glass with a built-in sound absorbing perforated bottom frame. Frosting film is available as standard feature to provide privacy. Power operated blinds needs to be obtain and install.
e. Obtain and install lighting fixtures and control switches in the conference room and hallway.
f. Obtain and install receptacle outlets in the conference room.
g. Obtain and install a Public Address (PA) system speaker in the conference room and hallway.
h. Obtain and install emergency lighting in the conference room and hallway.
i. Obtain and install a smoke detector in the hallway.
j. Obtain and install exit lights in the conference room and hallway.
k. Obtain and install an empty conduit for new audio-visual speakers/system (by Architectural).
l. Obtain and install 3 empty conduits with pull wire in the conference room.
m. Obtain and install an empty conduit for USB-C cable, microphone cable, and HDMI cable.
n. Reinstallation of receptacle outlets to a new location.
o. Reinstallation of the wireless access point to a new location.
p. Reinstallation of the data outlet to a new location.
q. Reinstallation of the smoke detector in the conference room.
The pre-qualified Respondent(s) will follow the drawings and scope of work that will be outlined in the Stage Two – Request for Proposal.
Respondents must be capable of providing the full range of services required in Japanese and English, or French, and have the ability to travel to, and perform commissioning guidance in Tokyo, Japan.
The estimated contract period will be 5 month(s).
