Cecil County Department of Public Works (DPW) is soliciting proposals from qualified professional engineering firms to provide on-call transportation engineering services under an open-end contract. Services may include, but are not limited to, planning, traffic analysis, design, construction phase services, and related tasks for complex transportation projects, including roadway and bridge construction projects.
Services will be authorized on an as-needed basis through individual task orders issued by the County during the term of the contract.
Cecil County own 612 C centerline miles of paved roadways exclusively two lane roads with 98 County owned bridges and about 200 hundred small structures/large culverts. Most planned project are expected to be repair or replacement of single span bridges and culverts, intersection improvements, road widening/corridor improvement, and drainage improvements. We do have 10 bridges that cross either AMTRAK or CSX railroads and may have some smaller maintenance projects on them. We have an active Safety audit program where we frequently do minor road safety improvements. On occasion, support for review of developer proposed bridges and structures or traffic impact studies is needed.
