Biohazard Clean-up and Sanitation Services

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office provides the full spectrum of law enforcement services to all unincorporated areas of San Mateo County, the contracted townships of Woodside and Portola Valley, and the contracted cities of San Carlos, Half Moon Bay, and Millbrae. The Sheriff's Office also oversees the county's Corrections Division, Court Security and transportation of incarcerated people, and the Civil Enforcement Bureau. The Sheriff's Office also oversees a Property Bureau which deals with and stores evidence.

Due to the nature of law enforcement work and evidence storage, the presence of biohazards is commonplace. The Sheriff’s Office aims to contract with a company which provides biohazard waste clean-up and disposal, decontamination, and sanitation services.

Since law enforcement is a 24/7 operation, interested vendors must be able to respond 24/7 and provide the services outlined in this RFP.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office has contracted with biohazard and sanitation services for many years and requires the expertise of such a company, as our staff is not currently trained, nor qualified, to provide these services.
