Description

DLA Land and Maritime, in support of NNSY Portsmouth, Virginia, is conducting market research to identify capable manufacturers of MIL-SPEC fasteners suitable for use on U.S. Navy carriers, submarines, and surface ships. This Sources Sought Notice and Request for Information is intended to assess the market's capability to provide fasteners that meet stringent military standards for naval applications. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 332722.



Additionally, the information gathered through this market research will support the potential issuance of a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with qualified manufacturers. The BOA will facilitate streamlined procurement processes for future requirements of MIL-SPEC fasteners, ensuring the Navy's operational readiness and logistical efficiency.



1. Description of the Requirement



The Government is seeking qualified sources that can manufacture, supply, or demonstrate the ability to produce MIL-SPEC fasteners, including but not limited to:




  • Bolts, Nuts, Screws, Washers, and related hardware

  • Conforming to applicable MIL specifications (e.g., MIL-DTL-XXXX)

  • Suitable for maritime and naval environments, with high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength

  • Material requirements may include high-strength steel, corrosion-resistant alloys, or other specified materials

  • Packaging and labeling compliant with military standards for secure handling and storage

2. Response Information
