Sealed proposals for City of Metter 2024 TIA & 2024 LRA Project will be received at The Metter Public Works Facility located at 700 Washington Street; Metter, Georgia until 2:00 PM on July 9, 2025. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. Bids may also be mailed to 49 South Rountree Street, P.O. Box 74, Metter, GA 30439. Any bid received after the said time and date will not be considered by the City of Metter. Plans and specifications are open for public inspection at the Metter Public Works Department, located at 700 Washington Street Metter, Georgia, or may be obtained from EMC Engineering Services, Inc. (912-764-7022) for a nonrefundable fee of $150.00.
All bidders are required to attend a pre-bid conference, which will be held at 10:00 A.M. on June 25, 2025, at Metter Public Works Facility, located at 700 Washington Street Metter, Georgia. Project scheduling, coordination requirements, minority participation, and questions of interpretation will be addressed at this time.
Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond on the form included hereto and shall be secured by a surety company, certified check, or cashier's check in an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount of the bid. A contract performance and payment bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount will be required of the successful bidder.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding.
Bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order Nos. 11246 and 11375, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Work Hours Standard Act.
The contractor, or any subcontractor, submitting a bid for utility contracting, as defined in O.C.G.A. Section 43-14-2 to a utility system as defined in said section, shall conform to O.C.G.A. Section 43-14-8.2 et
