Description:

The Department of Human Services (“DHS”) is seeking to add Ligature resistant wardrobe
cabinets to be placed in consumer bedrooms at Warren State Hospital (“WSH”), located at Market
Street Extension Rt 62, Main Entrance, North Warren, PA 16365-5099.

DHS is seeking to add 55 custom-made, wardrobe cabinets with a rolling locked door that creates
a safe room, when necessary, at WSH. These wardrobes are designed for ligature risk mitigation,
in material rated to withstand frequent cleaning for infection control, and capable of being mounted to the wall for safety. These wardrobes are for patient safety with anti-ligature and infection control designs. Safe and appropriate furniture for patient bedrooms is necessary for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) certification. These wardrobes support recent CMS guidance regarding ligature risks and a patient’s right to receive care in a safe setting.
