This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for Category 2 firewall, including associated subscription licensing needed to upgrade and expand the District’s current firewall capabilities. There are no installation requirements for this solicitation. Tucson Unified School District has dramatically increased network traffic with the addition of a student 1-to-1 program that provides a mobile device for each student, as well as for each teacher and administrator. The purchase of this equipment will support the expansion of the firewall capabilities for current and future traffic security as well as provide needed equipment to expand and upgrade WAN capabilities for enhanced growth up to 50GB. A purchase order will be issued to the awarded vendor as soon as funding is available, no later than July 1, 2025. In addition, the District reserves the right to limit or modify the scope of work based on budgetary limitations unrelated to E-Rate. To ensure funding availability all invoicing must be issued not later than June 30, 2026.

Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) intends to apply for discounts on the products and services listed in this RFP through the federal E-Rate program for Fiscal Year 2025/2026. (7/1/2025– 6/30/2026).
The scope of this RFP is to purchase both E-Rate eligible and non-E-Rate eligible Category 2 firewall equipment and associated subscription licensing needed to expand and upgrade the existing firewall. Any contracts awarded because of this procurement are contingent upon approval of E-Rate funding. In addition, the District reserves the right to limit or modify the scope of work based on budgetary limitations unrelated to E-Rate.
