The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from potential development partners (System Providers) to design, install, operate and own a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on the California State Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo
(Cal Poly SLO) campus. To meet the needs of the campus, the size of the BESS being sought is a minimum of 1 Megawatt, 4 Megawatt hours.
The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is intended to be used to provide peak shaving. Proposers are advised that Cal Poly is issuing two separate Request for Proposals, one for the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System, and one for a Battery Energy Storage System. Submittals for each RFP will be evaluated independently and in accordance with the criteria set forth in each RFP. However, it is Cal Poly¿s desire for one entity to provide both services described in these RFPs, if possible.
