Partial Hospitalization Programs for Children

Partial hospitalization is an alternative to inpatient care. Patients continue to live at home but go to a treatment center during the day.

The Office of Mental Health is expanding the Partial Hospitalization Program for children and adolescents. The goal is to increase access to services for children with serious emotional disturbance and their families at a critical time in their lives.

OMH intends to issue 20 awards, statewide. Of these awards, 8 will be in areas with critical need due to the absence of this program type and its affiliated services. These areas include the following Economic Development Regions and specific Boroughs of New York City:

  • Central New York
  • Mohawk Valley
  • North Country
  • Southern Tier
  • Western New York
  • Staten Island
  • Bronx
  • Brooklyn
