The Village of Arlington Heights will accept sealed bids electronically for the Backyard Drainage Improvement Project until 10:00 am local time on July 1st, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The above designated work and improvements referred to as BACKYARD DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS – 2026 shall include the installation of new public storm sewers and
appurtenances at various locations within the Village of Arlington Heights. This work will include, but is not limited to, curb and gutter removal and replacement; sidewalk removal
and replacement; storm sewer installation and removal of sizes between 8” and 12” of either PVC or RCP pipe; concrete sewer structure installation, including a 7’ MH; bituminous pavement patching. The locations for this work are shown in the Contract Documents. This work shall be to the requirements as indicated in the Contract Specifications.

Please note that the Village is still awaiting approval from MWRD for the 30 S. Mitchell Avenue location. The Village anticipates receiving approval during the bidding process and does not expect any substantial changes to the project as currently designed. Should MWRD require any modifications, the Village will issue an addendum to the plans and specifications as necessary. Any remobilizations due to a delay in MWRD permitting will be considered incidental to the contract.

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday June 24th, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Engineering Conference Room, Village of Arlington Heights, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL  60005

Bidders shall comply with the Prevailing Wage Rate Act (820 ILCS 130), the IDOT Standard. Bidders will also be required to comply with the applicable equal employment opportunity provisions.

Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted January 1, 2022, and the IDOT Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions, adopted January 1, 2026.  Bidders will also be required to comply with the applicable equal employment opportunity provisions.

All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid in the form of a certified check, bid bond or cashier’s check made payable to the Village of Arlington Heights. No bids shall be considered unless accompanied by such security.

The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities in bidding and to accept the proposal deemed by the Board of Trustees to be the most favorable to the interests of the Village.
