Description:

The Town of Amherst invites sealed bids for the purpose of providing materials testing and inspection services for the Jones Library Renovation/Expansion project. The Invitation for Bids may be obtained online at www.amherstma.gov/bids .

Bids shall be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. on May 28, 2025, to the Town of Amherst’s Accountant’s Office where the bids will be publicly opened and recorded at that time.

The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.

Qualifications:
Bidders must have at least eight (8) years of experience and a proven track record of high-quality work on similar projects.
Special Requirements:
Testing Agency must have worked on at least 8 Massachusetts public projects for which it has provided testing and inspection services during the last 5 years. Testing agency must have provided testing and inspection services on at least 2 projects during the last 5 years which had a construction value of at least $20,000,000 and/or the firm’s testing and inspection fee exceeded $50,000.
Miscellaneous:
The Testing Agency shall be licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Testing Agency and its personnel shall maintain in good standing the certifications, licensing and registrations required by the various agencies noted herein and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the duration of the project. Copies of these licenses and certifications shall be provided.
