The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period. Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid. The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces. Refer to Technical Specification Section 01 11 00 “Summary of Work” for the anticipated Notice to Proceed, Project Duration, and additional time constraints associated with this project. Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified as described in Technical Specification Section 01 11 00 “Summary of Work”. The percentage goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation shall be 17% A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the 1st Floor Conference Room of the Metropolitan Transportation Center (MTC) located at 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203. A walk-through to the project site will follow. See Invitation to Bid for date, time, and further details.
