This project is located in Scioto and Ross County in Shawnee State Forest/Park, and Tar Hollow State Park.
The project scope of work is further described below and includes multiple project sites.
All work is to be completed under General Contracting Contract. Completion date for all work under this project is December 11, 2025.
SCI-002SF-13.16 (DNR-240018):
The project site is located in Scioto County Ohio, along State Forest Road 2 at the intersection of Upper Twin Creek. The proposed work consists of replacing and existing single span timber superstructure and stone abutments, spanning 23 feet over Upper Twin Creek. The proposed structure will consist of precast reinforced three-sided flat top culvert, with a span of 16’-0” and a rise of 9’-11” and supported on a continuous shallow foundation along the length of the channel. Cast-in-place concrete wing walls and shallow foundations will additionally be provided on both sides of the culvert. The existing and proposed structure provides access to residences on State Forest Road 2 from the north. The access road will be closed during construction and local access to the residences will be provided from the south. Work includes approximately 66-feet of approach pavement on either end of the bridge.
SCI-130SP-00.16 (DNR-240020):
The project site is located in Scioto County Ohio, approximately 1300’ northwest of the Ohio River at the western edge of the Shawnee State Park Marina. The proposed work consists of reinforcing the bottom of an existing corrugated metal pipe arch with field paving. The proposed reinforcing will consist of uncoated welded wire mesh and rebar welded to the existing pipe with 6 inches of concrete lining the invert. The existing and proposed structure provides access to the south parking of the marina. The access road will remain open during construction. In addition to the above scope, two alternate scope items may be awarded:
The proposed work consists of replacing an existing concrete ramp, approximately 55 feet long and 26 feet wide, on the downstream side of the culvert. The new ramp is to consist of 5.5 feet tall walls running the length of the ramp, with cutoff walls on the upstream and downstream ends of the ramp. In addition to the ramp, an existing 12 inch storm drain is proposed to be replaced and embedded into the northern wall of the concrete ramp.
The proposed work consists of removing an existing failed catch basin north of the existing concrete ramp, and lining the channel with rock.
ROS-024SP-00.10 (DNR-240021):
The project site is located in Ross County Ohio, along State Park Road 24 approximately 550 feet southeast of the Ross Hollow trailhead parking lot. The proposed work consists of replacing and existing two barrel corrugated metal pipe culvert, spanning 6 feet over the Pine Lake tributary. The proposed structure will consist of precast reinforced concrete box culvert, with a span of 12’-0” and a rise of 4’-6”. Cast-in-place concrete wing walls and shallow foundations will additionally be provided on both sides of the culvert. The existing and proposed structure provides access to the trailhead mentioned above. The access road will be closed during construction. Work includes approximately 97 feet of paving within the construction extents.
Alternate 3:
The project site is located in Scioto County Ohio, along State Forest Road 6 at the intersection of Bear Creek. The proposed work consists of replacing and existing single span timber superstructure and stone abutments, spanning 13 feet over Bear Creek. The proposed structure will consist of precast reinforced three-sided flat top culvert, with a span of 14’-0” and a rise of 8’-3” and supported on a continuous shallow foundation along the length of the channel. Cast-in-place concrete wing walls and shallow foundations will additionally be provided on both sides of the culvert. The existing and proposed structure provides access to the Shawnee State Forest horse campground from State Forest Service Road 1 to the north. The access road will be closed during construction.
Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, and services to construct all elements of the bridges and roadways as specified and shown on the drawings. Perform the work and materials testing required by the ODOT Construction Material and Specifications (CMS), Drawings, and Contract Documents, unless specifically noted otherwise. Perform all work required, at the lump sums and unit prices for the items listed herein and such lump sums and unit prices shall represent full compensation for such work. Any labor, material, equipment or apparatus not specifically mentioned herein, or as shown on the drawings, which may be found to be necessary to complete any portion of the work in a substantial manner and in compliance with the requirements stated or implied by the specifications or drawings, shall be furnished by the contractor without additional compensation.
The foregoing is for the purpose of acquainting prospective bidders with the amount of work involved in this project and is to be used as a guide in requesting documents for this project.
