Contract Opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, plans to award a firm-fixed-price contract to Karius, Inc., located at 975 Island Drive, Suite 101, Redwood City, CA 94065. This contract will provide Laboratory Fee Basis Testing services, specifically the Karius Test®, for the Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (TVCBHCS) in Harlingen, TX. The Karius Test® is a next-generation sequencing blood test that detects microbial cell-free DNA and identifies over 1,000 pathogens from a single blood sample.
Karius, Inc. has confirmed through a Sole Source letter that they are the exclusive provider of the Karius Test®, which is unavailable from other sources and has no equivalent alternatives. The statutory authority for this non-competitive procurement is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, as only one responsible source can meet the VA s requirements.
This notice is not a solicitation for proposals or quotations. However, interested parties may submit capability statements or proposals within 10 days of this notice s publication to determine if comparable sources exist. If no affirmative responses are received, the contract will be awarded to Karius, Inc.
