Description

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are committed to fully complying with the requirements of the Make PPE in America Act (Act). Compliance progress includes:

  • Designating senior accountable officials for implementation of the Act,

  • Issuing internal policies and procedures and promulgating agency specific clauses and provisions,

  • Modifying existing contracts for compliance with the Act,

  • Issuing new solicitations for covered personal protective equipment (PPE) items requiring compliance with the Act,

This white paper provides industry with insight into the DHS, HHS, and VA (covered agencies) PPE requirements, specifications and anticipated demand. After publication of this paper, the Federal Government plans to host one or more “industry convening” events to gather feedback from industry on the content of the paper to determine what additional actions can be taken to further strengthen the supply chain for domestic PPE and encourage innovation.
