2024-055 Lewiston Redundant Waterline Project - Contract 2

The Work includes the following major items:

a. Installation of approximately 11,040 linear feet of 24-inch ductile iron

water transmission main. Refer to Specification 01640 for materials

supplied by Owner.

b. Two Stream Crossings of Bobbin Mill Brook on North River Road and

Stetson Road in Auburn, which include installation of 24” Ductile Iron

pipe in a 32” steel sleeve. Refer to Specification 01640 for materials

supplied by Owner.

c. Cross country water main installation.

d. Interconnections with the existing 24-inch cast iron water transmission

main on Center Street and Stetson Road.

e. Approximately 13,500 linear feet of (2) 4-inch Fiber Optic conduit and

associated Fiber Optic handholes.

1) Work within the intersection of Turner Street, Center Street, and

Union Street shall be completed with night work.

f. Installation of blow-off assemblies, air release piping and manholes,

combination air valve manholes, and permanent air vents.

g. Pavement repairs, surface restoration, and appurtenant work.

No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated.
A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work.
