Description
This document represents an invitation to Bidders to submit their proposals to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for SCC is seeking a Supplier to develop a National Workshop Agreement to define common terms and outline best practices for developing digital literacy.
In 2022, the Government of Canada launched the second phase of the Pan Canadian AI Strategy to help facilitate the combining of talent with commercialization and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI in Canada. Standardization was identified as a key pillar, and SCC was tasked with leading in the development and adoption of standards and conformity assessment programs. To do this, SCC built on the work done by the Data Governance Standardization Collaborative, expanding this Collaborative to address national and international issues related to both AI and data governance. Under the new AI and Data Governance (AIDG) Standardization Collaborative, SCC will support the development of standardization strategies that are aligned with Canada’s priorities and enable the Canadian AI and data ecosystem to scale up on the international scene. SCC is tasked with implementing 65 standardization strategies under this program, and this project will be one such strategy.
Digital Literacy is an important component of both AI and data governance, ensuring the public can interact with AI safely and actively fulfil their role in data governance.
