O’Leno State Park – Boardwalk Replacement

TO BIDDERS AND PLAN HOLDERS ON THE ABOVE REFERENCED PROJECT: PLEASE NOTE CONTENTS HEREIN AND INCLUDE, SIGNED, WITH YOUR BID SUBMISSION.

It will be required that this addendum be signed in acknowledgment of receipt and that it be included with your Bid when same is submitted to Laurinda Micheels, Contracts Specialist, Bureau of Design and Construction, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd., MS #520, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399-3000. Failure to do so may be grounds for rejection of the Bid.

The following statements supersede & supplement the corresponding items in the specifications & drawings:

1. Question:  Is there more information about the piles? I do see 2 7/8” with a 10/12 design but I did not see an actual count. Are there only 12? How deep is the estimated depth?

Answer: The total number of piles indicated in the plans is twelve (12). With respect to the depth of the piles, due to the limited soil information the actual depth required to achieve the design compression load of 8 kips is unknown; however, based on work performed on a previous project, we anticipate the load can be achieved with piles embedded into the soil 20 ft and less. Ultimately, the installed length to achieve the required capacity will be the responsibility of the contractor.

In all other respects, the contract documents of which this is an Addendum, and attachments relative thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
