Description
The project consists of replacing and upgrading much of the existing City of Terrace infrastructure along North Thomas Street between Cooper Drive and Halliwell Avenue. The proposed configuration along North Thomas will be changed to include a new 3m wide multi-use pathway on the east side of the street and a new 1.8 m sidewalk on the west side of the street. The project will also include removing and replacing 700m of existing roadway and installing concrete curbs and gutters on both sides of the street. The existing watermain in the project area is asbestos cement which will be abandoned in place and a new PVC water main will be installed as part of this project. The new water main to be installed is approximately 871 m long. The majority of the storm main within the project area is not being replaced but, the existing catch basins and manholes will be replaced with new concrete structures. The storm system will also require new catch basins and manholes installed and tied into the existing system.
