Description: |
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) requires the procurement of a High Purity Germanium (HPGe) gamma spectroscopy detector system to support radiological analysis activities conducted by the Bureau of Laboratories. The system will be utilized for the detection, identification, and quantification of gamma-emitting radionuclides in environmental samples as part of the Commonwealth’s environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance programs.
To meet these analytical requirements, PA DEP seeks to procure a GC4018 7500 Slimline HPGe detector system and associated components manufactured and supplied by Mirion Technologies (Canberra), Inc. Bidders are required to complete and return the “Reciprocal Limitations Form” electronically attached to the IFB file. Reference see Title 62 Pa C.S. Section 107. Scope of Work (SOW)
Acquisition of HPGe Gamma Spectroscopy Detector System
1. Background
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) requires the procurement of a High Purity Germanium (HPGe) gamma spectroscopy detector system to support radiological analysis activities conducted by the Bureau of Laboratories. The system will be utilized for the detection, identification, and quantification of gamma-emitting radionuclides in environmental samples as part of the Commonwealth's environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance programs.
To meet these analytical requirements, PA DEP seeks to procure a GC4018 7500 Slimline HPGe detector system and associated components manufactured and supplied by Mirion Technologies (Canberra), Inc.
2. Scope of Work
The Contractor shall provide one complete HPGe detector system and associated hardware components necessary for gamma spectroscopy measurements. The system shall include all specified detector assemblies, cryostat components, preamplifier assemblies, calibration characterization services, and supporting accessories as outlined in the vendor quotation.
The Contractor shall supply the following equipment and services:
2.1 Detector System
GC4018 P-Type Coaxial HPGe Detector
Relative Efficiency: 40% at 1332 keV
Energy Resolution (FWHM) meeting manufacturer specifications
Peak-to-Compton ratio: 63:1 or better
2.2 Cryostat and Detector Assembly
7500SL Slimline Cryostat Dipstick Assembly
Includes 27.75-inch tailstock configuration
Coaxial Chamber LMR-0
Standard Aluminum Endcap (3.00-inch diameter)
2.3 Signal Processing Components
iPA-II-SL10 Intelligent Preamplifier
Resistive feedback preamplifier compatible with slimline cryostat and 10-pin connector
Coax Detector RC Cold Preamplifier Assembly
10-foot RCP Preamplifier Cable Set
2.4 Calibration Characterization
ISOCS Characterization (ISOXCAL SOCS)
Detector efficiency-space characterization for the individual HPGe detector
Applicable for Mirion HPGe detector models
Includes ISOXSRCE radioactive QC check source
Supports compatibility with ISOCS or LabSOCS calibration software
2.5 Shipping
Please include all costs including shipping and handling within the costs of the line items supplied. The contractor shall ship all equipment FOB destination. No additional costs allowed.
3. Deliverables
The Contractor shall provide the following deliverables:
One (1) GC4018 P-Type Coaxial HPGe Detector system.
One (1) Slimline cryostat dipstick assembly with tailstock.
All associated detector chambers, endcaps, and mechanical assemblies.
One (1) intelligent preamplifier compatible with the supplied cryostat.
One (1) cold preamplifier assembly and associated cabling.
ISOCS detector characterization and QC source.
Manufacturer documentation, specifications, and operational manuals.
4. Delivery Timeline
The estimated shipment timeline shall be 16-20 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). Physical delivery location: DEP, Bureau of Laboratories 2575 Interstate Drive, Harrisburg PA. 17110
5. Acceptance Criteria
Equipment shall be considered acceptable upon:
Delivery of all components listed in the scope of work.
Confirmation that detector performance specifications meet manufacturer standards.
Successful verification of detector functionality and calibration characterization documentation.
6. Cost
All costs shall be inclusive of equipment, characterization services, documentation, and shipment as identified in the vendor quotation.
7. Contractor Responsibilities
The Contractor shall:
Provide all equipment in new condition.
Ensure all components are compatible and fully functional as a complete system.
Provide documentation necessary for installation, operation, and calibration.
Coordinate shipment and provide tracking information upon dispatch.
8. Commonwealth Responsibilities
The Commonwealth shall:
Provide a valid purchase order for the equipment.
Ensure appropriate receiving and inspection of equipment upon delivery.
Coordinate installation and integration into laboratory systems as required.
9. Bid Submission
