Title: Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 9/19/2025
Due Date: 9/26/2025
The City of Pontiac is soliciting proposals for the purchase and timely delivery of carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Detectors must meet or exceed industry standards, carry appropriate certifications, and include features such as long-life batteries or hardwire options with backup power.
This procurement will enable the City to expand fire prevention measures, enhance public safety infrastructure, and provide residents with critical life-saving equipment designed to reduce risks associated with fire and carbon monoxide exposure.
The City of Pontiac is committed to safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of its residents, employees, and visitors. A critical component of this effort is the prevention and early detection of life-threatening hazards such as fires and carbon monoxide exposure. Both risks pose significant threats to public safety, as smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning are leading causes of residential and workplace fatalities nationwide.
In alignment with state safety requirements, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and local building codes, the City seeks to procure reliable, high-quality carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. These devices will be deployed across municipal facilities and may also support community distribution programs aimed at improving residential safety.
