This Project consists of a 40,000sf recreation and community center for the New York City Parks Department. The building will be sited on the north side of Walter Gladwin Park in the Bronx and aims to create an activity hub that serves the park and neighborhood while negotiating the transition from the city urban fabric to the park landscape. The primary building programs will include athletic facilities such as a gymnasium and cardio, strength, dance, and spin rooms as well as educational and administrative spaces. The bu
ilding structure will consist primarily of mass timber glulam and CLT elements and its façade will be clad in a brick façade with large glazed openings. CB: Bronx 6
