Description

The Space Systems Command (SSC) Military Communications & Positioning, Navigation and Timing (CGK) Division, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, intends to issue a sole source contract modification to the Lockheed Martin Corporation for the continued performance of risk reduction and early design for the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) Service Life Extension Phase I. The additional performance will allow for a six month extension with performance starting 2 August 2025 through 1 February 2026 with six additional one-month options to 1 August 2026 to ensure continued performance in case of any additional unplanned delays. The Government has determined that competing this requirement would result in substantial duplication of cost that would not be recoverable through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency’s requirements.

The continued performance is needed at 1111 Lockheed Martin Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94089.

This notice serves as the notification of intent to award a sole-source contract action in accordance with FAR 5.203(a) and is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received by 1300 PDT, 14 April 2025.

Submission Instructions

Interested parties must provide a detailed rationale explaining why they should be considered for this requirement. Responses must be sent to the contacts listed below. The Government will solely determine whether to compete this procurement based on the responses received. The SSC/CGK will not reimburse any costs associated with providing capability information.
