S18 MassMutual Arena and Concourse PA Speaker System Upgrades
The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed general bids for the MASS MUTUAL CENTER MMC - S18 Arena PA System at the Administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on June 24, 2026, immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly.
The work of this project in Springfield, Massachusetts includes, but is not necessarily limited to, providing sound system upgrades for the MMC Arena and a new audio system (loudspeakers) to the concourse areas. Additional work will include supporting electrical, patching and repair work to be described in the contract documents. The arena upgrades will be designed within the greater context of potential future renovations to other areas of the Mass Mutual Center and the intended use of the Arena, along with a review of the acoustics of the space. Scope will include new loudspeakers arrays, subwoofers, wiring, amplifiers, and sound engines. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and testing required for the work to be shown in the Drawings and Specifications.
A pre bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 3, 2026, starting at the MMC located at 1277 Main Street Springfield, Massachusetts. Enter the building at the Box Office entrance on Bruce Landon Way. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walk-through of the site.
Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the bidding documents must be submitted to procurement@massconvention.com in writing in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 10, 2026.
Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $2,050,000 and for the following category of work:

Each general bid must also be accompanied by a Contractor Qualification Update Statement. Update statement forms for Prime and Sub-bidders can be found on-line at the State’s website: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/update-statement-for-public-bidding Any general bid submitted without the appropriate Certificate of Eligibility and Contractor Qualification Update Statement shall be invalid. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, all sub bidders must be certified for the estimated filed sub bid costs below.

Contract documents for bidders will be available on or after May 27, 2026 via the Authority’s website rfp.massconvention.com and each bidder may obtain the documents at such address, together with any addenda or amendments which the Authority may issue.
Bidding procedures and award of the contract will be in accordance with the provisions of Sections 44A through 44J, inclusive, of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachu
