Request for Information 6100066485-RFI

Workers' Compensation Claims Administration

Summary. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Commonwealth) issues this Request for Information (RFI) to gather information that may assist in the development of a future solicitation for Workers' Compensation Claims Administration Services.

The Commonwealth seeks information regarding current industry practices, available solutions, recommended requirements, implementation timeframes, and cost structures. The Commonwealth also welcomes alternative approaches and recommendations that may help promote competition and better define the requirements for a future procurement.

Background. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania maintains a self-insured Workers' Compensation Program that provides benefits to eligible Commonwealth employees. The program utilizes a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to provide workers' compensation claims administration services, including claims management, medical bill repricing, data management, coordination of medical and litigation-related activities, and other related services. The TPA works in coordination with Commonwealth staff and other contracted service providers to administer workers' compensation claims in accordance with applicable laws and program requirements. The Commonwealth is conducting this RFI to better understand current industry practices, service delivery models, technology, and cost structures in advance of a potential future procurement.
