Solicitation Summary
The University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) is seeking detailed information from firewall vendors about their products, capabilities, and service models. The University of Maryland, College Park is part of the University System of Maryland (USM) and is looking to share the responses to this RFI with other interested USM institutions, as many of them currently participate in an Enterprise Agreement with our current firewall vendor.
UMD intends to use responses to this inquiry to evaluate potential solutions as part of a larger future-looking firewall strategy at UMD. UMD is particularly interested in understanding how vendors’ offerings align with the needs of a higher education university environment (research and non-research), where high-performance networking, flexible integration, and scalable security services are paramount.
This RFI is not a solicitation for proposals or offers and does not constitute a commitment to procure any products or services. It is intended solely to gather information for planning and decision-making purposes. Please note that all responses will be public record.
