Title: Dam Sediment Removal and Maintenance
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 10/16/2025
Due Date: 11/20/2025
The Town of Fountain Hills (the “Town”) is issuing this Request For Proposals (this “RFP”) seeking proposals (“Proposals”) from qualified, licensed firms (“Vendors”) interested in providing professional services consisting of "Dam Sediment Removal & Maintenance" (the “Services”), as more particularly described in the Scope of Work . In accordance with the Town’s Procurement Code, the Town will accept sealed Proposals for the Services specified in the Scope of Work .
The Town of Fountain Hills is launching a multi-year, townwide maintenance and sediment management program to preserve and enhance the functionality of its ten (10) publicly-owned or jurisdictional dams. These stormwater infrastructure facilities are critical for regional flood control, sediment capture, and stormwater management. Over time, sediment accumulation and structural wear have diminished the effectiveness of these dams, requiring systematic removal of material and targeted repairs. This programmatic approach allows for phased improvements across all dam sites, ensuring continued regulatory compliance and public safety.
The Town’s ten jurisdictional dams included in this program are:
1. Hesperus Dam
2. Aspen Dam
3. North Heights Dam
4. Golden Eagle Park Dam
5. Sunridge Canyon Dam
6. Fountain Lake Dam
7. Thunder Ridge Dam
8. Crystal Ridge Dam
9. Stoneridge Dam
10. Botanical Garden Dam
By addressing sediment removal, inlet/outlet structure maintenance, embankment repair, and access improvements on a recurring basis, this project helps protect downstream neighborhoods, prolongs the life of key public infrastructure, and ensures the Town's compliance with Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) jurisdictional dam requirements.
This program is intended to run over a period of 5+ years, with individual task orders/work orders issued annually or as needed under an on-call contract. Each task order will define:
