Qualified Contractors List

The City of Morro Bay invites all licensed contractors to submit their information for inclusion in the City’s Qualified Contractor’s List for the 2025/2026 calendar year, in accordance with the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA) and Public Contract Code Section 22034.

The City of Morro Bay maintains a Qualified Contractor’s List to notify interested contractors of upcoming public projects that fall within the informal bidding thresholds established by CUPCCAA.

To be eligible for inclusion on the Qualified Contractor’s List, contractors must:

1. Hold a current and valid California State Contractor’s License appropriate for the type of work they intend to perform.
2. Maintain an active Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) registration number.
3. Carry all required insurance and bonding necessary for public works projects.
4. Comply with California Labor Code requirements, including prevailing wage laws.
5. Provide a completed Contractor Registration Form to the City.

Interested contractors must complete and submit the Contractor Registration Form, available on the City’s website at https://www.morrobayca.gov/contractorsbidderslistform or by request from the City’s Public Works Department. The completed form can be submitted via:

Contractors may submit their registration at any time; however, to be considered for the 2025/2026 Qualified Contractor’s List, submissions must be received by Thursday March 6, 2025, by 4:00 PM.

Placement on the Qualified Contractor’s List does not guarantee project award but ensures contractors will be notified of applicable bid opportunities. The City of Morro Bay reserves the right to determine qualified contractors based on project-specific criteria.
