Depending on market research and other influences, the NAF Procurement Office anticipates issuing a solicitation for this project around late March 2024.
The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses and the Government is not obligated to and will not pay for information received as a result of this announcement. The Air Force Services Center (AFSVC) Child and Youth Programs Division (VCY) is seeking the services of a professional child care source to provide backup child care to eligible Department of the Air Force (DAF) members. The source must be able to provide backup child care services nationwide and possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the child care industry, including engagements in colleges, corporations, and government departments.
A Backup Care Pilot Program is being considered for two locations. The Pilot Program is designed to offer up to 10 days of care per child during the period of performance. This service can be utilized when a child is experiencing illness and is unable to attend their regular child care arrangements, such as the Child Development Center (CDC), School-Age Care (SAC), or Family Childcare (FCC). Care can be provided until the child is symptom-free and can safely return to their regular care arrangements. It is important to note that this program is not intended to replace regular child care services. Instead, it serves as a short-term solution to provide coverage in urgent situations when children cannot attend their regular child care services due to illness and there are no alternative caregivers available in the household.
Child care providers must meet the specific requirements to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in their care. These requirements must include at a minimum state -licensing, completed background checks, and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
The child care source must be able to:
Backup child cannot be accomplished in members homes. Contractor will provide confirmation of licensed programs where care will be provided.
A Statement of Objectives (SOO) is attached. We are requesting the specified industry provide comments and questions on the SOO to assist us in our market research and the development of a solution. We would appreciate if you could provide specific pricing to assist us in our budgeting and to understand the pricing strategy for this type of requirement.
