Project Description: The purpose of the Book'd in the Shade Southmost Pergola project is to create an outdoor reading and activities space for the citizens of Brownsville accessible at our Southmost Branch. This project intends to increase the diversity of programs we can offer at the library to include outdoor story times, classes, and event space which will allow our library services to expand beyond their current building limitations which will allow increased activity and interaction with nature. The suggested pre- manufactured shade structure would fit a 20 ft. by 50 ft. area with design footing and includes site work preparation, decomposed granite pad with concrete curb, the installation of the shade structure and design footing.
