The Town of Amherst is inviting sealed bids for a programming engineer. Invitation for Bids may be obtained by visiting www.amherstma.gov/bids .

Bids shall be submitted no later than 2:00pm on Monday, April 14, 2025, to the Town Accountant’s Office at Town Hall, 4 Boltwood Ave, Amherst, MA 01002, where the bids will be publicly opened and recorded at that time.

The Town of Amherst reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, and to waive minor informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.

Qualifications:
Responding technician shall have (minimum) 10 years programming experience.
Special Requirements:
A programming engineer shall be available to troubleshoot existing, and write new software in the following formats: R.S. Logix 5000, R.S. Logix 500, R.S. View S.E. and Wonderware.

A technician must be able to troubleshoot PLC hardware, Allen Bradley and General Electric.

Responding technician shall have the following trainings/certificates from Allen Bradley: Advanced Control Logix Training, Advanced Control Net Training, Control System Development Training, Introduction to Control Logix, RSLogix 500 Advanced Programming, Developing PanelView Applications, Designing & Configuring DeviceNet, Programming PLC-5, Programmable Controller Training, Standard Drives Automation University.
