40817 – 2025 Little Italy Groundcover

The St. Johns River Water Management District (“District”) desires to procure a contractor to prepare the proposed 4.25-acre planting area marked on the map (Figure 1) by removing unwanted species through herbicide application and hand weeding where necessary. Then produce and install 8500 sandhill plants as described in the Statement of Work (Attachment A).

The primary objective is to install native grasses that will facilitate the movement of fire throughout the unit. Invasive and non-desirable plants in the unit include Natal grass, Dogfennel, and various pasture grasses. The planting area excludes areas already planted as well as portions that are tree-covered.
