- Summary:The Virginia Department of Forestry is looking for a contractor who has work experience and knowledge in tree removal to remove 100 marked trees at the historic Flippen cemetery in Danville, VA. The work consists of removing 100 marked trees, up to five branch hangers and three wind-thrown trees within the 0.54-acre parcel. There is a one lane unimproved dirt access road from Greentree Rd in Danville to the cemetery site. The perimeter of the work area is designated by the map. Due to the sensitive nature of this historic grave site, bidders must have at least five (5) years’ experience successfully fulfilling tree removal contracts and must have experience removing trees at historic sites, as evidenced by the references indicated on the Vendor Data Sheet. A mandatory site visit is scheduled at the cemetery on December 20, 2024 from 10am until 2:30pm. Please see the contact details in the SOW document to schedule.
