The County of DeKalb, GA (the "County"), is requesting Proposals for Safe Streets for All (SS4A): Planning and Demonstration (Three (3) Year Multiyear Contract) . Proposals are to be submitted via the County's eProcurement Portal via https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/dekalbcountyga PRIOR TO 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 . Late Proposals will not be accepted.
Project work includes the development of a Safety Action Plan and the execution of implementation demonstration activities for unincorporated DeKalb County, consistent with the goals of improving transportation safety and reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries.
DeKalb County Government seeks to develop a comprehensive Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan and implement demonstration activities for unincorporated DeKalb County to reduce and eliminate traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries for all roadway users. The project will apply a data-driven and systemic safety approach consistent with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe System principles, with particular emphasis on improving safety outcomes for vulnerable road users and communities disproportionately impacted by traffic crashes. The estimated budget for this effort is approximately $1,000,000.
The Safety Action Plan will be informed by analysis of existing conditions, identification of a high-injury network or equivalent priority locations, public and stakeholder engagement, and the evaluation of short-term demonstration activities. The resulting plan will identify actionable strategies, prioritization tools, and performance measures to guide near-term and long-term safety investments and policy decisions across the unincorporated County.
The services shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of written notice to proceed and shall remain in effect for a period of three (3) years from the date of award unless otherwise extended or terminated by the County.
