Description
Sioux Lookout Dental Equipment Maintenance Tour, Inspection and Repair
Indigenous Services Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) delivers dental services in twenty-four (24) remote and isolated First Nation communities within the Northern Operations, Sioux Lookout, ON.
Routine service maintenance and inspection of the dental equipment is required in Health Facilities located in remote and fly in only communities identified by ISC on an annual basis. Maintenance tours may consist of up to fourteen (14) community visits per year on an as needed basis. Dental Technicians will travel with other trades personnel on a charter, and will be escorted by an Indigenous Services Canada staff member at all locations. Charter dates will be determined by ISC..
Objectives of the Requirement:
Dental technician(s) will be contracted to complete the following:
- Complete annual HARP testing on X-Ray equipment in community
- Document make/ model / serial number if equipment list provided by ISC has discrepancies compared to what is in community
- Inspect patient dental chair, doctors stool and assistant stool for any malfunctions and complete repairs on site if possible
- Inspect Cavitron Unit to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect Dental Vacuum Central Suction
- Inspect and run test cycle of sterilizer to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect dental compressor to ensure operating at optimal performance
- Inspect amalgam filtration unit and install new amalgam filter
- Inspect dental handpiece delivery system and ensure all dental lines are operating at optimal performance
- Inspect dental suction system and replace filters as needed
- Complete Dental Site Inspection Report and submit to Dental Program Manager Wendy Simpson within two (2) weeks of site visit
- Include pictures of dental suite and mechanical equipment such as dental vacuum, compressor and amalgam filter
- Each report must include make, model and serial number of all dental equipment
- Document condition of equipment item
- Document if any repairs are needed that could not be done in community
- Notes of services that were performed on equipment and outcome of repairs
The estimated contract period will be 18 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/09/22.
