BIRCH MEADOW SCHOOL CURBING AND PAVING IMPROVEMENTS - CONTRACT 25-24
INVITATION TO BID
The Town of Reading is accepting Sealed Bids for the BIRCH MEADOW SCHOOL CURBING AND PAVING IMPROVEMENTS.
The work under this contract consists of performing sidewalk and roadway resurfacing work including but not limited to paving, reclamation, grading, curb, concrete pedestrian wheelchair ramps, bituminous concrete sidewalk located at Birch Meadow School, 27 Arthur B Lord Drive, Reading, MA, as required by the Town. Work is to be done when school is not in session and completed prior to the start of school.

All bids shall be submitted to the Reading Town Clerk’s Office prior to May 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.at the address listed above.
Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount Bid. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond satisfactory in form to the Town, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount from a surety authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and acceptable to the Town.

Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those tradespeople who may be employed for the proposed work under this Contract.
he bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M.The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.
