Sustainable Planning in Coastal Commuities: Risk Reduction, Revitaization and Restoration NYS DOS Contract# C1002612

The Town of East Hampton’s Sustainable Planning in Coastal Communities project has been awarded $600,000 of funding through the New York State Department of State Environmental Protection Fund Local Waterfront Revitalization Program to develop a proactive plan for the Montauk study area (outlined on the attachment) to achieve sustainable revitalization that supports a year-round, resilient community. Planning will include community-supported options for building and zoning code updates, strategies for reducing coastal hazards and climate risk vulnerability, and restoring natural resources to protect vital economic infrastructure and the tourism industry.
