Description
The Silvertip Campground, in Skagit Valley Park, was burned in a 2018 wildfire and suffered erosion of campsites and roads in a 2021 Skagit River flooding event. The site requires works to:
1. Remove the previously fallen trees and cut dead and damaged trees as indicated in the prescriptions included in this RFP.
2. Gather the fallen and cut trees and associated parts of trees (tops, 80% of branches and stumps from road construction) and manufacture by grinding (hog fuel) or chipping. The resulting hog fuel or chips must be removed from the site. The proponent must obtain a Licence to Cut from Ministry of Forests to remove the manufactured material from the site.
3. Restore road access on the site by reactivating specified roads, reconstructing specified roads by widening for two-way traffic, construction of specified new roads and deactivation and blockage of specified roads that are retired from further use.
